  • Workplace risk factor evaluations (late-night hours, cash handling, working alone, uncontrolled access).
  • For 500+ retail staff statewide: silent response buttons (mobile app, wearable, or fixed) to request immediate assistance.

Penalties & enforcement

Formal compliance orders and civil monetary penalties per non-compliant facility; enforcement driven by anonymous NYSDOL worker complaints (Form SH550). Enforced by NYSDOL.
